9AM-11AM Greater Mohican Audubon Society Bird Walk led by Gary Cowell. Spring flowers and foliage, birds, insects, reptiles, and amphibians, it is all fair game on this adventure. Dress for the weather and possible muddy trails; the path to Pugh Cabin always produces something to excite our interest. Malabar Farm Visitor Center

Fly Fishing Demonstration. The Mohican Fly Fishers will have a display and demonstration of fly tying, casting and fishing in the Clearfork River at the Covered Bridge area.

Tips & Tricks for Turning Your Schoolyard into an Outdoor  Classroom. Herb Broda, Ashland University. Join us for a session that will focus upon easy and low cost/no cost ways to make your school grounds an inviting location for teaching all content areas.

Eagle Watch. Staff Naturalist will be available at the perfect vantage point at the Clearfork Reservoir to view the nesting eagles and provide fascinating natural history facts.

10AM-4PM Richland County Master Gardeners; Visit the "hands on" insect display. Learn about Ohios "helpful" or "harmful" insects. Kids will also be given seed packets for planting their very own butterfly garden. Collect a free sticker for children. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions. 10AM-4PM Self-guided Walk of Nature Trail and Wolf Creek Grist Mill. On-going guided tours of the operating gristmill with interpreters present in period costumes. Children Activities and Nature Crafts: Bring the family to enjoy a day of activities and crafts. Decorate a t-shirt, dip candles, make bird feeders, and much more. Donations greatly appreciated.

Come to Your Senses - Let's Reconnect with Nature. Herb Broda, Ashland University assisted by Louise Fleming. This is an active, hands-on session that will give you and your child or grandchild a chance to do several fun outdoor activities that focus on taking a closer look at the world around us.

11AM-3PM Bluebird, Bee, or Bat Nest-box Workshop. The Malabar Farm Volunteers and the Ohio Bluebird Society will host public Bluebird, Bee, and Bat Nesting Box Workshops. $15.00/box. Participants will assemble their own nesting box and learn about these rare and beautiful songbirds, insects, and flying mammals. The program will also include information and instruction for proper mounting of the box to encourage bluebirds, bee, or bats. Malabar Farm Visitor Center
11AM-4PM Recycled Nature Crafts for the Family; You can work at your own pace to create nature crafts out of items you would normally throw away. Materials will be provided to complete at least 5 nature crafts. Program by the Richland County Regional Solid Waste Management Authority. Malabar Farm

Tours of the "Big House." Noted author and conservationist Louis Bromfields historical Federal Reserve style home open for guided public tours. The 32 room home has all of the original furnishings and was the site of the famous hollywood wedding of Bogart and Bacall on May 21, 1945. Tickets available at the Visitor Center.

Growing Green. Tour the exhibits and "green" visitor center building for information and demonstration on solar, wind, geothermal and green building materials.

12PM Bird of Prey Program: Meet the fastest animal in the world; learn the fascinating facts about the hunters of the sky and flighted tigers of the night. The Ohio Bird Sanctuary will introduce you to the magnificent world of birds of prey. (Limited seating if inclement weather.) Ohio Bird Sanctuary

12PM-4:30PM Walk in the Past. Mohican School in the Out-of-Doors staff members will be dressed in 1800 era costumes and will conduct a living history program. Possible characters include Johnny Appleseed, Simon Kenton, a trader, a school marm, a town criar, an Indian, a pioneer lady making candles or other pioneer ladies weaving. Building a Green Home. Dr. Louis and Ann Laux will present a program on building a green home. They constructed a home in the Georgia Mountains that was built from eco-friendly products and self-sufficient through photovoltaic power system as well as active and passive solar.

School Gardens for Wildlife. Louise Fleming of Greater Mohican Audubon Society. This is a slideshow of ideas for why and how to make wildlife areas on school grounds. Informational handouts will be provided.

8PM Owls of Ohio. Ever wonder whooo is making those eerie night sounds? The Ohio Bird Sanctuary will host an owl program at the Mohican State Park Resort. Meet many of Ohios species of owls up close and learn about their courtship and role in our environment. Mohican State Park, Mohican Resort
7PM Solar and Star Party. Come and view the flames from the sun with our NEW solar telescope, then afterwards join local astronomers that evening as they turn their telescopes towards the spring night sky to view Saturn, Jupiter, Orion Nebula and the moon. 10AM-12PM Animals, "Hands On." This informal, ongoing program will allow individuals a chance to learn about and handle some of the animals native to our area. Included in the program will be several examples of amphibians, reptiles and small mammals. Gorman Nature Center
10AM-3PM Photographing Birds of Prey. Have you ever wondered how the professionals get those great wildlife shots? Now is your chance! The Sanctuary staff will perch our raptors in natural settings to allow you to get the perfect picture. Three bird species will be available every hour. Donations appreciated. Ohio Bird Sanctuary
