Tom Arbour is the land and water trails coordinator in the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ (ODNR) Division of Parks and Watercraft. Included in his many responsibilities as the trails coordinator is helping coordinate a project to inventory all types of trails across Ohio, which can be found at trails.ohiodnr.gov. His career at ODNR began in 1999 when he worked at state nature preserves across northeast Ohio. Tom brings a wide knowledge of the natural history of the state to his position and looks forward to using this knowledge while he works on the development of the next comprehensive statewide trails plan.
Tom will outline how trails have the potential to help all Ohioans to conserve and enjoy Ohio. He’ll detail what was learned by interacting with thousands of Ohioans through the state trails planning meetings and public surveys and describe the vision set forth by the state’s newest comprehensive plan for the future of Ohio’s trails.
