The Clear Fork Valley Scenic Trail (CFVST), is a natural corridor of hiking trails located in southern Richland County, between Malabar Farm and the Richland B&O Trail. Formed in a partnership between the North Central Ohio Land Conservancy and the Richland County Park District, CFVST serves as a corridor connecting nearly 600 acres of preserved land encompassing a multitude of habitats from old growth forests, tall grass prairies, and significant geological features such as Hemlock Falls. Come explore the CVFST on a naturalist led backpack excursion. We will meet at the parking area off State Route 95 and Pleasant Hill Bunker Road at 12:00 then hike through the Cole Road Prairie Vista Loop Trail onto Hemlock Falls and back covering approximately 4.6 miles. Along the way we will naturalize exploring flora and fauna found along the CFVST stopping occasionally to admire vistas. This trip will take place regardless of the weather so dress appropriately. It is recommended to bring a backpack with essentials such as water, snacks, raingear, etc. Maps for this program are available at Gorman Nature Center.
This hike will be led by Kyle Bailey.
